Introduction
- PCR or Polymerase Chain Reaction is a process used to amplify in an exponential manner a DNA segment (here called template).
- It uses a polymerase, an enzyme that will read the DNA segment contained in between the two primers and copy it.
- The dNTPs or di-nucleotide tri-phosphate are the bases used to code the DNA sequence.
- mQ H2O is some ultra-pure water that should contain no salts
- The buffer is a solution specifically made to give the best environment for your polymerase to operate salts (MgSO4) or DMSO could be added to optimize the copy.
- The PCR Temperature (T°) Setup is a program used to give instructions to your PCR machine and is different depending on the polymerase, the primers & the template you want to amplify.
