The public service association, AGiR! Action for Genomic integrity through Research! is already well into its third year, informing the public about choices everyone can make in regards to common risks to genomic integrity, a new 'big picture' concept that basically includes all the molecular genetic details of cells from every living organism. In addition to 'spreading the word' about these issues, directed research on genomic integrity for quantitative risk assessment is another big aim of this group.
AGiR! wants to really act!
Hopes of beginning DIY 'citizen science' projects at the Hackuarium, using inner cheek cells, will be the main topic of the presentation, to perhaps provide a new way for everyone to get involved. Come learn more about two methods to detect DNA damage, the 'comet' and micronuclei assays, and about genomic integrity in general from the AGiR! founder, and join in the discussion.
Your feedback and help can make a difference, for a healthier future for all living beings on our planet.
